New(ish) year, new Trustees and Ambassadors

As we enter our eighth year of supporting people who are vulnerable to and experiencing homelessness in Birmingham, we welcome two new Trustees to the Board and six longstanding volunteers to the newly created role of Ambassador. Alan Strang, a Let’s Feed Brum Trustee since 2020, has also taken on the role of Chair.

These changes come following significant evolution for the charity over the past few years, which we couldn’t have done without the commitment and energy of our volunteers, founders and past Trustees.

Meet our new Trustees

Simone Robinson

With a profound understanding of the challenges faced by the community we serve, Simone steps into the role of Trustee to support and coordinate our invaluable volunteer network. Having been actively involved with Let’s Feed Brum since 2018, Simone has led Friday night outreach teams and played a pivotal role in implementing volunteer training programs, whilst also being the diversity & inclusion lead for a global aerospace company. Her valuable expertise will underline our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the charity and address the diverse needs of the community we support.

Maeve O’Sullivan

Drawing upon her extensive background in marketing and communications, Maeve brings her wealth of experience to her new role as Trustee to extend our networks and continue building our reputation. A volunteer since 2018, Maeve has led Tuesday night outreach teams, identifying opportunities to evolve how our charity operates and responds better to fast moving community needs. Maeve also runs her own marketing & PR consultancy and has over 20 years of experience working with charities and organisations in a wide range of sectors.

Empowering volunteers as Ambassadors

We’re an almost exclusively volunteer-led organisation and our newly created position of Ambassador allows us to recognise the longstanding dedication of some of our volunteers, who provide essential resources and friendly faces to people facing difficult times in their lives.

Welcome to our Ambassadors, Lauren Braybrook, Brandon Doherty, Bob Leach, Tony McPherson, Iain Neville and Dawn Wigley. They will work alongside our Trustees to develop and expand the positive impact that Let’s Feed Brum can make.

As we look to the future, we’ll be looking at how we can extend our reach even further in 2024, giving voice to the daily struggle to survive.
